ReplyDeleteCreativity is something very important to the world in order for it to continue to move forward. However, speaking these goals can easily hold you back. They can cause you to not have the necessary motivation to continue with their goals. I've had the same issue with one of my goals. I hadn't even started it for months after saying I would.

ReplyDeleteCreativity, the use of your own ideas in your own way not using someone else's idea. This idea is original and captures ones eye. Creativity may come from ones experiences, imaginations or just ideas that can turn into something bigger.
I picked the word 'creativity', because I felt it calling my name. Creativity, as summarized by this video, is loosely defined as inventing, experimenting, growing, breaking rules, making mistakes, and having fun. I think this is a good definition of the word.

ReplyDeleteIn this Ted Talks video innovation is talked about coming from web video which Chris Anderson is saying has created a cycle he calls crowd accelerated innovation. This wheel starts to turn with having a crowd with a common interest, light to see what those in the crowd are capable of, and desire to put forth the hours. He uses the example of dancing and how someone in Japan can watch a YouTube video uploaded in Detroit and improve upon it then put up their own video. This is truly innovation with the web.

ReplyDeleteThis video discusses factors that can influence a person's creativity. Things like music and even the color of the environment can impact how creative someone is. Interestingly if one sleeps from 1-3 pm, cognition increases most likely due to the information in your active memory being transferred to the long term. Creativity can be impacted greatly by many things. Who would have thought?

ReplyDeleteFor example, Chris Anderson explains how YouTube allows aspiring dancers to post their own unique dance moves and create a whole new genre of dance. Without the freedom of this medium, innovation can be crushed.

Google Cardboard is a new alternative for affordable virtual reality. Google Cardboard was designed to turn any smartphone into a virtual reality helmet, for low cost or even free. Cardboard was designed to be made out of simple materials, basically lenses and a piece of cardboard. Cardboard pairs with your phone, and after you download the app, you can experience full virtual reality with working head motion tracking and total immersion. The cardboard includes a slot for your camera, so you can turn VR into AR (Augmented Reality) for an even more realistic experience.

Many prosthetic limbs are either don't work well or not affordable to many people who need them. A group called D-Rev came up with a new knee prosthetic called ReMotion Knee. Innovation exists in our I.C.E. course because that is the meaning of it. In class, Mr.Turton gives us the option to design anything we want on the Makerbot software and print it out on the 3d printer if it is approved. ReplyDeleteWhat was cool about this video was the prosthetic leg that was created. There were several examples of how expensive other makes of prosthetic legs around the world. The prices ranged from $1,400 to $20,000 dollars. In the end, innovation helped create a leg that was around $200 with the accessories. Innovation not only can yield better results, but also cheaper and more affordable results.

ReplyDeleteThis video explained creativity in a scientific manner, bringing in studies, chemistry, and theory to best explain creativity as both a biological and sociological phenomenon.
In short, creativity is a trait which is naturally ingrained into every human being, which can be further nurtured through practice and study. While some people have a natural affinity to be more creative due to the presence of a higher level of a certain neurotransmitter, every person has the capability to be a creative genius should they learn the proper techniques to spur on creative thinking.
